A mechanic shop receipt is the last document in the job and the one a customer keeps, which makes it the one that gets read most carefully. This builder takes the ticket you have already priced, works the subtotal, the tax on parts and the balance still owing, and lays it out as a receipt the customer can file and you can find again. It is arithmetic on your numbers, nothing else.
The receipt is the document that gets read
An estimate is skimmed and an invoice is argued with, but the receipt goes in a glovebox or a folder and comes back out when something goes wrong or the vehicle is sold. That makes it the document worth getting right: parts and labor separated, the tax shown, the vehicle identified and the shop's own name and registration number on it. Parts and labor stay separate, on purpose
A single total tells the customer nothing and tells you less. Separating parts from labor is what lets a customer compare an estimate with what they were charged, what lets a warranty claim be assessed, and what lets you answer the question you will be asked in two years about a repair you no longer remember. It also happens to be what most state disclosure rules expect a repair invoice to show.
A balance still owing belongs on the paper
Part payments are common on larger jobs and the moment they get lost is when the receipt shows only the total. The builder subtracts what has been paid and prints what is left, so the copy the customer keeps and the copy you file say the same thing. If the balance is zero the line still earns its place, because a receipt that says nothing is owing is the one that ends the conversation.

What is the difference between this and the invoice tool?
The invoice tool prices the job from parts cost, markup and hours. This one starts after that, from the amounts already agreed, and produces the receipt for what was actually paid. Shops that price elsewhere and only need the paper use this one.
What has to be on a repair receipt?
At minimum the shop and customer, the vehicle, what was done, the parts and labor separately, the tax and the total. Several states add requirements, including how parts are described and whether the old parts were offered back, so check yours.
Can we put our own logo on it?
